Daily Blogg: Still fixing my comp (this sucks)

So er yea still working on my little problem, probably have at least a partially functioning comp (that can do more than just do text and basic image entry blogging) and be back to normal soon.

At this time however I'm digging out a dusty old case and butchering every other computer i have to come up with a desktop that at least can attempt to run half my toys...

...yea well that's the idea, practical application of this has proved somewhat frustrating at best.

Now where did i put my hammer?

Daily Blogg: Dead laptop FTL

So er...yea turns out that beer and laptops don't mix!, i mean who knew that "splash proof" doesn't include alchol. Seriously who in there right mind would sell a computer to an Irish bloke without making shure its beer proof!

Honestly im insulted...

What this means however humble reader is that the Blogg is only partially functional due to the fact that I'm attempting to update using my steampowered and often hamster driven desktop.

this means i cant use video streaming sites properly and don't have half my normal bag of tricks to play with including sadly my much loved World of Warcraft.


Normal service will be returned as soon as i persuade my boss to cough up the cash to get my baby repaired...

...so the latter part of "hahaha who the f**k are you kidding".

so i guess sometime on Saturday, i can be very persuasive.

Daily Blogg: DIY router makes Brain hurt!

As some of you know my router decided to burn out and take my Internet with it!

Fortunately for me i had my old backup USB router in my parts box and was able to get back online to look up a few sites on DIY repair.

Eight hours & a red hot soldering iron later i am once again wireless. But while i was doing my repairs i decided to do a few "modifications"...

...OK to be honest i totally ripped off the idea of doing this from an open source website but if it improves my surfing capabilities I'm not complaining...



...so i added a sodding big fan, and am having a shiny new expansion to the case vac moulded in carbon grey to fit it as we speak and am just marking out (and in some cases extending) the LED's to fit. But it means i have a super cooled Wireless Router to play with and once i finish the housing for the new fan I'll be back up to speed.

RANT! : Xbox LIVE service

ARGH!!! ok im NOT one for a mindless badly though out rant...

...ok stop laughing you lot...

...but is it so utterly imposable to believe a company as HUGE as Micro$oft couldn't have anticipated the massive rise in Live subscribers and 360 owners give the stupidly high price of the PS3 or the game limitations of the Wii making the 360 the primary choice for most gamers?

Every single excuse under the sun has been made from bandwidth issues to server limitations to "over subscription" to explain the frankly idiotic level of service for the XBL community. This is further hampered by the ongoing pathetic level of customer service representatives on the help desks, primarily i have to admit due to the lack of understanding of the English language by the outsourced staff who have almost no understanding of the console or the "blade" interface system resulting in further frustration and worse PR for M$.

Get it sorted micro$oft or your going to loose your lead in this console war simply because you decided it was ok to shoot yourself in the foot.

Little bit of a treat today, Ubisoft have definitely been keeping premarital sex out of Assassins creed but look who's the poor bugger to suffer not our titular hero ooooh no but the poor faceless guards left to fend for themselves.

He COULD be just working on his arm/wrist strength y'know...
