For those of you keeping track i've been AFK for almost 4 weeks, the reason is we have just had a new addition to the family and this have been sleep deprived and exhausted.
But im back and thats what matters. BTW yes i am aware that my autpo poster took a dump again and am making efforts to fix it as we speak.

None the less i'm back in time for Azeroth to go to hell and due to the world ending (as we know it) i had a bit of a nostalgia well up over the old world and thought i should share it.

but as i said, i've been away...

...so i guess i had better come up with something amazing...

Oh yes yes YES! The sundering has begun and its ALLLLLL good.

Blizzard has started the Cata pre quest countdown to the sundering of Azeroth ans we get to take part by infiltrating the doomsday cult known as the Twilight Hammer. This naferious group of nay sayers believe that by helping the elementals of teh old world take over (and burn down our citys) that they will be elevated to elemental status themselves and survive the sundering of the planet...


....as a long time do gooder it will; be your job to plant your well worn boot in there collective ass earn a little gold and generally get in there way.

Daily Blogg: CATA INCOMING!!

So we have an official release date for the latest expansion for World of warcraft. Incoming on the 7th December 2010 Cataclysmic insanity hits Azeroth.

So what to do until then? well I for one am attempting to craft myself the Thunderfury Legendary weapon before Blackrock and Molten core is capped up to the 80's with the help of some friends in guild (Marcus, Steve, Rick, Helen & James) to grind the materials and grab some fun classic loot.

Now thats not to say we dont have a few things to do such as Hallows end and the 6th year anniversary event and lets not forget Wintervale to keep us occupied.

there is however one question that niggles at me...

...do i cap my 3 Lv80's to Lv85?...

...or do i roll a Goblin or Worgen?

time to flip a coin i guess

thats right im heading back to Azeroth for more shiny titles and riding beasties!!!

So a few chaps (and a wench named Wenchy :p) set our sights on Ulduar last night with a Rusted protodrake in mind before the next expansion hits. This chevo should be easy to do with our current gear from ICC and with a little luck should be a bit of a laugh.
regardless its an excuse to finally take one of my favourite raids apart on my paladin meat shield.

I have seen it all baby!
Yesterday my squishy little mage Malaus on the Saurfang server (EU) and proud member of the Son's of the Horde guild finally managed to saunter, stride, ride and fly his way across the whole of Azeroth and the Outlands to earn his "Explorer" title and shiny golden tabard.

Special thanks to Gavin, Steed and Vathos for there encouragement somehoe managing to "congratualte" me with ever singe achievement on this ridiculous world tour that i somehow managed to spit out in less than two days spamming the hell out of guild chat much to the frustration of my guildies.

Daily blogg: Halo Reach Beta 03/05/10

The sixth (and possibly final) game in the Halo series is going to public Beta testing at one minute past midnight tonight (00.01 GMT) here in the UK.

Joining Nobel team as a replacement after combat inflicted losses to the Covenant forces you take part in the truly epic and much toted fall of the earth colony world "Reach".
Halo reach takes part essentially at the same moment as the opening scenes of the first Halo game (Halo: Combat evolved) in which the ship carrying the Master Chief breaks the blockade of incoming Covenant ships and makes a blind jump that leads him to the first Halo installation.

What Halo reach does is show us how the planet came to be under covenant attack and how Nobel team managed to get the cryogenically sealed Master chief out of enemy hands and up into orbit to the USNC ship Pillar of autumn so he can meet his date with destiny and save the whole damn galaxy.

The public Beta testing is for the prototype weapon and armor capability of the third generation Spartan super soldiers in player Vs Player combat as well as the testing for the newly modified elites and there 1st generation weapons and ships.

So this may or may not peak your curiosity but it appears i have solicited some interest in Blizz as far as my writing is concerned.
Im not going to blow my own horn but I am presently waiting for a piece of email regarding a short story i threw together for there mock news paper 'The Gadgetzan Times' that brings the somewhat controversial task of name, class & race change into the lore of the game and could potential open up a massive world to Role Play (RP) gamers in the popular MMORPG World of Warcraft.

Well heres hopeing anyway.
Who knows i may even get some recognition out of this....doubt it though...

Seven weeks, three days, eleven hours and a quick trip to the local post office and I have FINALLY got my XBOX back...

...well kinda...

I got a shiny new Elite, a black behemoth, a noir nemesis to the PC and PS3 and i gotta tell you, it was worth every damn penny for the upgrade.
So what does this all mean? Well im back on XBL and im playing with my shiny new toy, which in turn mean im neglecting my WoW toons a little for the next couple of days while i attempt to regain & remake some of my now lost XBOX saves while downloading the truly epic amount of downloaded content to the new console (about 16gigs of DLC ) as well as breaking in my shiny new black pad.

So not too interesting i know but thats what im doing.

Daily Blogg: cataclysm to hit Azeroth

Yes Blizzcon '09 happened, storeys were told, rumours were routed and panels were bombarded with the myriad miscellaneous query's and questions of the great unwashed.
All in all a good time was had by all.

So whats new then? Well basically there gonna blow up Azeroth...as in explode....destroy....mutilate....annihilate.

er yea I was shocked too. but this Cataclysmic event is to allow certain long awaited changes in the World of Warcraft. During these events however two new playable races have emerged from there hidey holes and joined one of the two factions vieing for the now distinctly limited resources of the now shattered world.

The are the Worgen (feral werewolve like creatures with an aptitude for magic) joining the Alliance and the Goblins (greedy little green dudes who run the airships) joining the Horde.

How this will play out im not sure and the exact story line is currently unpublished but rest assured as soon as i get some concrete info ill be posting it here.

Lets start out with one of the best Freebies out there at the moment in the form of Fiesta.
this is a deceptively deep somewhat cartoon/manga style MMO with more that a slight nod to the styling of Dragonball Z & Blue Dragon and other eastern animation.
The basic needs in terms of processing power and RAM of the game are on par with World of Warcraft and its basic interface take most of its nods from this hugely popular game.

Leveling and progression are on a relatively easy learning curve and the community is lively and vibrant with a fairly welcoming attitude to new gamers. More than worth the download and occasional laggy gameplay and login.

Ok onto Maple story, if you dont know what this is by now you have no good reason being on the internet. If however i must describe this anime come to life MMO i would call it an early Zelda brought to the world of MMO's if Nintendo had a one night fling with the Mistwalker team and had raised there bastard son as a MMORPG.
All the classic genre specific mobs and classes are there and offers little in the way of surprises in any way to a seasoned RPG player. Worth the download if only for the music and dawwww.

Ok folks if you haven't played the game yet GO AWAY...

...no im serious, this is not where you want to be because beyond this point there are spoilers beyond belief.



OK on the unfortunate business of tearing this frankly amazing game apart. :(

Before I begin i will be assuming that you have completed the game and have completed at least one of the two endings, if you have not then please feel free to go to your XBOX and come back later.
For the rest of you i should explain that I frankly LOVE this game in almost every single way and am almost loath to take it apart but since im a Fanboy freak i feel it is my duty to piss all over my own fun ;)

The Farce Unleashed

Lucasarts have always been the forerunner to any starwars related game and are possibly the best suited given there closeness to the subject matter to create a fore related starwars universe game, so i gotta ask in all seriousness with all the lore whore's and fanboys with every tiny piece of SW trivia memorized could they not find anyone to fix the massive glaring continuity errors and in universe mistakes that border on Ewok level insanity?
Im not going to list all the little foibles but i think the top five should be enough to make my point.

5. Anti ''FORCE'' fields: I cannot even begin to explain how this should not be possible in the SW universe, no living creature is immune to the force it is by definition ''in all living cells'' and therefore immutable, Nothing is immune to the FORCE! no not even droids, which nicely leads me onto...

4. Force Droids: the force is in all LIVING things...LIVING!! i mean god damn i know that droids are smart but since when could they use the force? (anyone who brings up Sparky the force droid will be shot on sight with the non canon cannon)

3. Loss of Sight = Loss of Force?: Early on in the game you blind a Jedi Master and somehow release him from his obligations to the living force... yea sorry folks i call so much bullshit on this the herd may have to do without the bull for a while so he can recover. It wouldn't be so bad if suddenly out of the blue the good general suddenly develops force sight and gains the ability to steal the Emperors lightsaber with a force pull near the end of the game!

2. The Apprentice: ok i so you start the game as one of the single biggest baddest force throwing bastards in the universe and suddenly out of nowhere about midway through the game you turn into a sniveling, whipped, wimp attempting to justify his place in the universe while whining to his pilot (girlfriend/love interest) about how hard it is to make a moral decision regarding the future of the universe when you have Darth Vader as a surrogate dad. I mean how hard it it know the 7ft tall guy with the bad chest cold jet black armor and dodgy complexion is the freaking bad guy? none the less when you finally do make a decision...


1. YOU KICK THE CRAP OUT OF DARTH VADER!!!: I was initially torn in which way i should see this act of rebellion, sadly in the end im forced to call dickery on this and point unbelieving as the biggest character in the SWU gets his ass handed to him by what appears to be a teenager in a hoodie who then to rub salt in the wound takes on the emperor 1v1. Baddass yes but i mean come on



OK im done and although it may be a tad bias i can say with a song in my heart that despite all this THE GAME KICKS ASS and i would suggest a rental to non fans if your not willing to buy it. To SW fans i would suggest going without food and grabbing onto it with both hands while grinning like an ape while you enjoy about 20 hours of SW fun and games.

Feeling a little odd today so instead of doing something utterly pointless to welcome in the new week i decided to hot this weeks gaming news running.

Well here we go, first things first "good" news for Sonic fans that own a Wii as of this weekend Sonic has been confirmed as a character in the upcoming Super Smash Brawl game. In all honesty i realy don't see the point as in my humble opinion the Mario & Sonic Olympics should be more than enough of the steroid enhanced mammal and Brooklyn plumber shenanigans for anybody.

But seriously Olympic games with Mario and Sonic....what is this 1984? I mean am i the only one that remembers that Mario is supposed to be a 40 something plumber from Brooklin? as for Sonic the idea of a naked blue steroid enhanced erinaceinae (oooh big word) that should be well into his 80's (in hedgehog years) as a symbol of Olympic excellence dosen't realy appeal...

...oh well at least its an accurate comparison to modern athletes...
