The Rumour mill (part 4)

Ok so we covered most of the casters and some melee class DPS but what about the poor meatshields ...er... i mean tanks....*cough* did i say tanks? i ment warriors ... yes warriors

Well the good news is if you play a Fury or Arms spec warrior your going to have a LOT of new competition in the form of The lord of the Arena and master of arms the all powerful and all but unstoppable Gladiator class!

Wowwiki has this to say:

A gladiator has devoted himself to the mastery of close combat. This single-minded devotion to weaponry and fighting styles makes him much feared by his enemies who cross him, and close allies to those who manage to befriend him. A gladiator prides himself on having equal proficiency over every weapon imaginable. Most also strive to become peerless experts in a weapon of their choice. This chosen weapon weaves and sings in the gladiator's hand, carving a swath through all foes.

Most gladiators come from the ranks of fighters, warriors and barbarians, who find the discipline and rigors of training a welcome challenge to master. Other classes require much more work to become a true gladiator.

Ok i realise that fighting these whirling wheels of meat and metal are scary enough but rumours of a specialist version of these warriors available as a rank through Arena PVP combat that will unlock special combat capabilities is frankly terrifying!
These so called Blademasters will wear there Arena rank proudly using truly awe inspiring gear and weapons available only to the Gladiator Hero class that have achieved this incredible rank that will unlock the full capabilites of these blistering warriors. Not only that but Orcish Blademasters may be getting an unexpected bonus from there newfound Arena rank as when it is switched on the normaly green and pleasant orc will be transformed into a rampaging Red Fel Orc (where other species only get a cool red glow in there eyes) not the most subtle of changes but it does fitn in well with Warcraft Lore.

Wowwiki has this to say on Blademasters:

The Blademasters are an orc gladiator class who have exchanged the traditional orcish weapon, the axe, for the sword, which they masterfully wield on the field of battle. They were created when the orcs were first corrupted, to serve the legion's purposes, but, since many orcs have freed themselves, there are now Blademasters found in Horde and the Burning Legion.

Uncorrupted Horde Orcish Blademaster from Warcraft 3 (below)

Horde Blademasters

Though their numbers are few, the seasoned Blademasters represent an elite fighting force within the Horde. These skilled swordsmen were once part of the ill-fated Burning Blade Clan which consumed itself in the throes of Demonic corruption. With their Clan scattered and broken, the proud Blademasters swore a grim oath to free themselves and their brethren from Demonic control once and for all. Under Thrall's command, the Blademasters have once again joined the Horde and serve as the young Warchief's personal honor guard.

The few Blademasters who still exist are now loyal to the Horde. They have sworn oaths to free their people from demonic corruption, and they usually do this through example: If they can be as formidable as they are without the Legion's help, other orcs can as well. Blademasters lead their people into melee combat unhesitatingly seeking the most vulnerable champions - magi, druids and the like. Blademasters willingly go toe-to-toe with other melee experts as we well, drawing from ages of tradition to fuel their combat prowess. their sashimono banners allow their troops to identify them on the battlefield and move to where the action is thickest. Many act as bodyguards for other Horde champions.

The new Blademasters gain their speed and agility as blessing from the spirits, marking them as ones familiar with the arts of shamanism. Yet even on their own, a Blademaster's skill equals that of batallions of their foes, making them a most formidable opponent. They fight with honor, making battle with swords an artform, using their combat prowess only to protect the new Horde, and forever loyal to Thrall.

hey i said there were coverd in the lore didnt I, bet you didnt expect this though...and that isnt the half of it...but ill cover that later

Rant: Gold farmers, the real cost.

Since the dawn of MMORPG's acquiring funds for some of the better gear available in game and where there is a need there will be someone with dubious morals to fill that need. The most notable sources of this virtual enterprise at this time are the Chinese, now i for one have no personal or moral grudge against the Chinese as people however i DO have a serious moral quandary with gold farmers.

The Gold Farmers have found a niche which they have over the period of a few years they have forged into a truly awe inspiring and corrupt business which unfortunately takes every advantage of the Asian peoples moral drive as a society utterly convincing those who work in these sweat shops that they not only CAN make money by selling virtual items and gold but but SHOULD because of the innate laziness and corruption of western society as a whole. This self proclaimed and convinced right to make real money in virtual realms despite company's such as Blizzard's constant efforts and monitoring of there servers has caused a rift among the gamers, splitting almost 50-50 morally with the desire for new and interesting items and mounts and need to ether farm for gold ourselves or pay a nominal fee to some Chinese sweatshop and spend our time actually enjoying the game.

So where does this leave us? well with inflated prices in the in game Auction houses and the distressing amount of time required to grind funds for things like epic flying mounts etc. gold farmers will always have a place on our servers despite the fact that they are the very reason for the inflated prices in the first place because most of us simply don't have the time to grind for weeks at a time to fund our in game exploits and pay the resulting repair bills. This vicious cycle of Farming, overpricing & gold buying will continue until ether the farmers are all banned or we as gamers stop buying there farmed gold. I mean yes it may take longer but it has to be better than paying people to exploit us and others doesn't it?

OK rant over...for now

The Rumour mill (yet more WotWK info)

So ive been hearing a veritable myriad of rumours on how the new Hero classes will function in WoW, Athough this may be a frustrating and unfortunite oversite on my part to explain properly I will attempt to make this as simple as possable. Now since Blizz will only give information on the Deathknight Hero class At this time they have comfirmed how this (and in all probibility future Hero classes) will function.

So lets get this started according to Blizz the very first thing we need to do if grind our asses off to get to Lv. 80 (yea big suprise there...) then compete a quest chain that Blizz has stated will be comparable to the Warlock Epic mount quest, one this quest is over your reward will be the ability to create a brand spanking new DeathKnight character. Now at the very least you still have your main to play (im personaly thinking this may be a good thing) and a new toon that starts with some truly IMBA gear and start at between Lv.55 & Lv. 70 (Blizz still havent gave details).

Now for those of you paying attention this means that you get to keep your main and still play the new class. I repeat...YOU CAN PLAY ALL THE NEW HERO CLASSES!!!

Now this does not mean you wont get to super power your main oh no no...the so called Prestiege classes will also open up to all players, so what does this mean to us the gamer? well basicly we get a Lv.80 pumped up version of your own class with a different class name and some funky new abilitys. So lest free up a slot, delete an alt and prepare for the comming of a whole new set of warriors.

And now you know what i know...well for a while anyway...lol

Now a special treat the Full presentation form Blizz:

Now i should warn you this is a 30min long video and he tends to drone on a bit, so feel free to miss some of his ''informitive idle banter'' and ''fanbase building quotes''.

As always i will be on Renegade WoW Vent channel doing my Q&A most evenings if you want further details. See ya ingame

The Rumour mill (more WotWK info)

Ladys and gents, I return to you with more 'Alpha Test' level goodness in the form of some good news for all you spell slingers out there!

First up to bat (coz a friend asked, and i think his dad is gonna cry if i dont) is the Warlock hero class the appropriaty named 'Fel-Sworn'...

...Wowwiki has this to say on the Fel-sworn: The servants of the Burning legion are a myriad of darkly motivated men and women, servants of some demonic will. Most of those who have become slaves to the Burning Legion have done so by following mystical paths that are not only perilous for one's body, but also for one's soul, as warlocks may bind them to their will and they become more and more evil as time passes. Rumours of 10,000 shadowbolt crits are as yet to be confirmed however using two lesser Demons at once (eg: two Imps etc.) has been noted as a destinct possability as has the noted addition of new 'Greater Demons' into the Warlock spell list.

Ok thats the Followers of demonic Pwn delt lets get on with the magi.

With the movement of Dalaran to the far reaches of Northend the need for more powerful Magi has increased tenfold and thus these warders of the Arcane are recruting and training an all new Hero class know only as the 'Archmage', as usual someone has already said all that you need to know so lets go back to wowwiki for more info:

The Archmagi are a group of people hailing from the magical kingdom of Dalaran to represent the pinnacle of magical power. Weaving their intricate enchantments, these mages defend humanity with all the magical powers at their disposal. Mounted atop their trusty unicorn steeds, the Archmagi brandish magical blades and ancient staves that serve to channel their fierce energies in battle. Though gruff and slightly aloof, these experienced wizards are a heartening sight upon any battlefield where the fate of humanity lies in peri. Once again i cant help but feel a destinct shiver of fear at the potential brute force of an Archmage but then again only time will tell...
